Plaited Scarf

This scarf is for my mom-in-law, she picked out the color and the pattern. Knit in Knit Picks Andean Silk .. ohh so yummy feeling!! Cream color. My first attempt at "spit-spliceing" .. yes.. spit! Also cabled without the cable needle.. so much faster! I hope I can finish it before Christmas, need to knit about 40 more inches and block it so the sides dont roll up as in the pic.

HELP!

After making my first 2 pair of mittens for Christmas gifts.. I'M HOOKED! All I can think about is making more mittens, looking at mitten patterns, searching for the perfect mitten yarn, learning new techniques so I can make beautiful mittens!! I am not at all interested in the other 4 projects I NEED to complete for Christmas Gifts, and thats not good! I tried, really hard to pick up the dog I am knitting for my God-daughter. But nothing. I'm just not.. into it. I need to make a commitment to myself... as soon as I am done with the Christmas knitting I will go out and buy nice yarn and make myself a pair of mittens. AND NOT BEFORE! ugh! ... after all its just 4 projects right?

Gift Exchange

So, we have to come up with a gift for the family Christmas Party gift exchange. I decided to put my talent to use and knit something. I made another Irish Hiking hat in a lilac color and sadly it ended up being too long for some reason (oops). So I ripped it back and was able to save it! YAY! And then decided a hat.. hmm kinda lame gift.. so I am making my very first pair of mittens to go with the hat. A basic mitten with a nice cable down the back to match the hat. I got through the thumb gusset in one day. I am quite happy with my progress hopefully I will have this gift done soon. I have so many more to do! YEIKES!! I will post pictures of the set when they are finished.

Irish Hiking Set

This is a set I made from a pattern I found on Ravelry.com called Irish Hiking Hat, and Irish Hiking Scarf. Pretty easy to make and make a nice gift set.

Baby Hats

Baby hats.. awwwwww.. who doesn't love baby hats? Made these 2 in one day! Super easy and use such small ammounts of yarn, you can use up the left overs from other projects.

Baby Dress

This was the first baby dress I made and it turned out beautifully. Was knit for a friend of the family's first baby. I just hope it fits when the little bundle comes. Once the Christmas gift knitting is out of the way I want to try my hand at Christening gowns. Completed August 2008

Patchwork Tortoise

This is a turtle I was making, I didn't have an "owner" in mind but when my son saw it he fell in love instantly. He said "Mommy, you made me a turtle!" Too cute. - Completed November 2008

Blueberry the Dog

Since my blog is starting one year since I started knitting I have some catching up to do. So, I am going to attempt to post some pictures of my past projects with small descriptions. Starting with my most recent project. A Christmas gift for my husbands God-son. A stuffed wiener dog I call Blueberry - the yarn color was called blueberry, seemed appropriate. Completed November 2008
